Dead Reed Kozuka and Historical Shear Steel Kogatana
This piece is a collaboration with Scott Roush at Big Rock Forge. Scott forged and finished the kogatana from historical shear steel and completed the project by taking some really lovely photos of the piece. The kozuka is my take on a Mitsuoki Otsuki piece that was done originally in copper and gold. Here, I have rendered it in mild steel, shinchu and native copper.
