Copper Magnolia Tsuba

This piece was inspired by a tsuba made by Kajita Masaharu. I only had a picture of the front as inspiration and the back is my own design. I have always had an affinity for this motif and it was something I had wanted to try for a long time.

The ground is water cast copper, hand forged and finished. Inlay is done in kuro shibuichi, aokin( green gold) ,fine silver and fine gold. The back is done in shishiaibori, or sunken relief, carving.
